Using Search Data
Identify Content Gaps
High-volume failed searches indicate missing content:
- Export failed searches
- Group by topic
- Prioritize by search volume
- Create the missing documentation
Improve Existing Content
If searches have low click rates:
- The title may not match what users expect
- The content may not answer the query
- Consider adding keywords to improve matching
Optimize Navigation
Popular searches might deserve:
- A spot in main navigation
- A dedicated landing page
- Links from related pages
Search Quality Score
Jamdesk calculates a search quality score:
Score = (Searches with clicks / Total searches) × 100
| Score | Rating |
|---|---|
| 90%+ | Excellent |
| 70–89% | Good |
| 50–69% | Needs improvement |
| Below 50% | Poor |
